07 May New LEGO® Brick Animals Bound for WWT

Following a successful display of larger-than-life LEGO® brick animals in 2015, Bright Bricks is working with the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust once more to build a new exhibition. The previous display toured the country to various WWT sites, bringing the bright colours of a kingfisher’s feathers and the curious character of a friendly otter to families nationwide.

The newest additions to the nature trail include a water vole and a short-eared owl, both larger-than-life, full of distinctive personality and built from 39,216 and 37,884 bricks respectively. Each took 17 days to build, and the attention to detail in the alert eyes of the owl in particular shows. The new trail’s first outing will be to the WWT’s reserve at Martin Mere from 9th May to 24th June, followed by excursions to Slimbridge and London later in the year.

Among the returning models are a kingfisher, a river otter, a flamingo and a Hawaiian goose, all of which can be seen at the WWT reserve at Martin Mere, alongside their LEGO brick counterparts. Visitors participating in the trail can collect a certificate at the end, or take part in a workshop to build and take home a small LEGO brick owl of their own. Tickets can be booked here.
