On 27th-30th July 2017, we took our Kingdom show to BRICKLIVE at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre in London. This was the first time the show had been in the UK since its appearance in Basel back in May.
With new models and an animated story, we were very excited to bring Kingdom back to a UK audience at BRICKLIVE. Behind the scenes, we installed the show on the Wednesday and placed some of our other models around the venue including a 5 metre tall Big Ben. By the time the VIPs entered on Thursday, we were ready to go and excited to get some new reactions to Mithrog (our enormous LEGO dragon) as well as the other models in Kingdom.
You can get a close-up look at some of the models in our Basel photos.
At BRICKLIVE London we also added some new models from our collection as well as some interactive features. The Crown Jewels and Baron’s castle were added to tell more of the story, and our interactive catapult feature was very fondly welcomed by everyone who took part and bombarded the castle with LEGO cannonballs. We also premiered the full version of our Kingdom animated story which you can watch online now.
Alongside these features, we also launched our Kingdom collector’s models. Visitors to BRICKLIVE were able to pick up a LEGO Dragon Hatchling and pre-order our Dragon Whelp Eggs. These are now open to everyone for pre-orders until 14th August - take a look here.
The LEGO fans who stopped by were also called upon to help us build a gigantic LEGO castle. We’d like to thank everyone who contributed by building a large brick - with just half an hour to spare, Michael, Tracy and Lauren were able to use visitors’ giant bricks to finish the castle. We ended up using just over 250,000 LEGO bricks in total, so it was an amazing effort by everyone involved.
And what would a Bright Bricks LEGO show be without a selfie zone?! There was a queue to sit on the throne almost all weekend and there were lots of happy faces enjoying their 15 seconds of…royalty.
Did you visit Kingdom at BRICKLIVE? We’d love to see your photos and hear your thoughts.
